Accreditation by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB), ensures the competence, impartiality, and reliability of conformity assessment bodies such as laboratories, inspection, and certification bodies. Established under Executive Order No. 802, PAB plays a vital role in boosting consumer trust, regulatory confidence, and international trade by aligning with global standards through Mutual and Multilateral Recognition Arrangements. Accreditation allows test results and certifications to be recognized internationally, supporting the “accredited once, accepted everywhere” principle.
