Start-up ecosystem mapping for Laguna successfully held in Biñan City

Biñan City – The Start-up Ecosystem Mapping for the entire province of Laguna was successfully conducted on July 17, 2025, at the 2nd Floor of the Biñan People’s Center. The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the City Government of Biñan, Batangas State University, and ICONS South Luzon.
The initiative brought together key stakeholders to assess and map the current landscape of innovation and entrepreneurship across Laguna. Notable attendees included Biñan City Councilor Christopher Alba, City Councilor Rommel Dicdican and City Councilor Bing Cariño, representatives from the academe, and various national government agencies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry led by Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. Also in attendance was Ms. Fatima Villaseñor, Head of the Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office of Laguna.
Local entrepreneurs and all stakeholders actively participated in the discussions, providing valuable insights and perspectives from the ground. This activity is considered a crucial step in strengthening the province’s start-up ecosystem and establishing a solid foundation for inclusive, innovation-driven economic development (RFAGarcia, DTI-Laguna). ♦
