DTI Quezon, thru CFIDP conducts “Aesthetics to Strategy: A Visual Merchandising Seminar-Workshop for CFOs and MSMEs of Quezon Province” in partnership with Design Center of the Philippines
The Department of Trade and Industry – Quezon through Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) in partnership with Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) successfully conducted the two-day session of “Aesthetics to Strategy: A Visual Merchandising Seminar-Workshop for Coconut Farmers Organizations (CFOs) and MSMEs of Quezon Province” last July 29-30, 2025 at St. Jude Coop Hotel and Event Center, Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas City.
The training offered practical, cost-effective methods suited to local contexts, encouraging creativity by leveraging indigenous materials, sustainable practices, and regional design sensibilities. It empowered participants to elevate the visual appeal of their products on the shelf or table—enhancing visibility, influencing purchase decisions, and ultimately increasing income.
On the first day of the seminar-workshop, Ms. Flordeliza B. Pinlac from the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) provided an overview of the agency’s history and programs for Coconut Farmers Organizations (CFOs) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), followed by Ms. Rowe Requejo’s lecture on visual merchandising and its impact on consumer behavior and product appeal.
The second day featured a “Photography 101” session by Mr. Chester B. Gazzingan, equipping participants with practical skills to effectively showcase their products through compelling visuals. Each day concluded with a practicum where participants applied their new knowledge in hands-on activities, received expert feedback, and revised their designs to improve their visual merchandising and photography skills. This practical application enabled participating CFOs and MSMEs to identify areas for improvement in their design approach—serving as a vital component in reinforcing learning through experiential methods.
The seminar concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and token to the resource speakers and a closing speech by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa. PD Tadiosa expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the CFOs and MSMEs who attended the event. She additionally commended the DTI Quezon organizing team, which made the event possible through.
Sixty (60) participants, composed of cooperatives, associations, federations, and MSMEs with DTI staff and resource speaker, attended the activity. The event was hosted by Ms. Nicole Allysa V. An, CFIDP Support Staff. ♦
