Strengthening Business Ties: PTIC-KL and MCMTC explore new opportunities

On March 10, 2025, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Kuala Lumpur (PTIC-KL) met with the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies (MCMTC) to discuss potential business collaborations and investment opportunities in the Philippines.
The meeting brought together key business leaders, including Mr. Martin Ang, MCMTC President and Director of Julie’s, Ms. Mag Ng, MCMTC Secretary-General and Compliance Director of Mega Fortris Group, Mr. Andy Yeap, MCMTC Deputy Secretary-General and Chief Operating Officer of Kawan Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, and Ms. Karen Fairclough-Ng, MCMTC Executive Director. Representing PTIC-KL were Ms. Norjamin G. Delos Reyes, Commercial Counsellor, and Ms. Cassandra Anwar, Trade Assistant.
Discussions centered on the Philippines’ growing potential as a destination for Malaysian businesses, highlighting its strong consumer base, strategic ASEAN location, and attractive investment incentives, including tax holidays and a skilled, young workforce. The recent liberalization of foreign ownership in key sectors in the Philippines is also a major point of interest, offering new opportunities for international investors.
Both sides expressed optimism about future collaborations, with plans to organize business events and networking opportunities to further promote trade and investment between Malaysia and the Philippines. PTIC-KL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting MCMTC members by providing insights on incentives, regulations, and market entry strategies in the Philippines. ♦
