MSME Disaster Resiliency

Description

In recognition of the importance of regional economic resilience, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), in collaboration with other agencies responsible for SME promotion and focal agencies for disaster risk management, launched the project “Strengthening the Disaster Resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises in Asia”. The project seeks to engage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines on disaster risk management (DRM) activities.

MSME Resiliency Related Materials

Acknowledging the need to further promote awareness on disaster resilience among different micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, the National MSME Resilience Core Group developed the MSME Guide to Disaster Resilience, designed to serve as a reference material for MSMEs in understanding business continuity practices and the basic concepts of disaster risk reduction and management.

MSME Guide to Disaster Resilience

The following MSME resiliency related materials are outputs of the “Strengthening the Disaster Resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises in Asia” Project, an initiative in partnership with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The project is supported by Asian Development Bank’s Integrated Disaster Risk Management Fund, financed by the Government of Canada, and the German Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) through the GIZ within the framework of the Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management.
