DTI starts training for IRegIS nationwide rollout
The Department of Trade and Indusrtry (DTI) held its first training for the nationwide rollout of the Integrated Registration Information System (IRegIS), an ease-of-doing-business online platform.
DTI personnel from Regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were the first to undergo in the series of trainings during a workshop at St. Giles Hotel Makati from September 11 to 12.
IRegIS, first launched in 2020 to automate the services of the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB), can now facilitate the online application for sales promotion permits and certificates of authority to import, and registration and accreditation of service and repair enterprises, sea freight forwarders, and private emission testing centers.
In her opening remarks, FTEB OIC Director Atty. Marimel Dancel Porciuncula said: “What was once just a vision has now become a reality through IRegIS. No more long queues. No more back-and-forth office visits. No lack in time, great distance, poor mobility, bad weather, even sudden pandemic lockdowns, can hinder the delivery of our services.”
With plans to expand the services covered through the combined efforts of the Information Systems Management Service (ISMS), Fair Trade Group (FTG), and Regional Operations Group (ROG), all the DTI regional offices will be equipped with the technical expertise and operational readiness for a full and seamless system implementation.
Pursuant to the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, the DTI developed IRegIS to reduce red tape, streamline government transactions, and ensure the efficient delivery of services which promotes consumer welfare and fair business practices. ♦
